After planting more than 4000 olive trees, raising in Appaloosa horses, Cinta Senese breed pigs, Angus cows and homing pigeons, Oliviero and son, Rocco, felt like the project was missing something: a vineyard. Around the end of the 90's they were inspired by a friend, Angelo Gaja, and decided to plant one of the most suggestive vineyards of Tuscany.
During the 40’s, their grandfather, Fedele, was working as a photographer for the newspaper “Corriere della Sera” and realized the logo of “Rotofoto” - the first Italian image bank - which served as an inspiration for the label.
50% syrah. 50% teroldego. Certified organic farming. 17-19 year-old vines. Iron rich, red soil for syrah. Calcareous clay-based soil for teroldego. Hand-harvested. Stainless steel fermentation. 20 day maceration for syrah. No maceration for terolgedo.
