Fabel Barbou Touraine Oisly by Domaine des Corbillières
gooseberry - grapefruit - refreshing - grassy
The Domaine des Corbillieres covers 28 hectares around Oisly, known to be one of the best terroirs in Touraine; it was purchased in 1923 by Fabel Barbou, who was among the first to plant sauvignon vines in this area. After four generations, Dominique Barbou now runs the estate. Today, this terroir is considered one of the best for this grape variety, with soils of sand on clay. Fabel Barbou had hit the nail on the head.
Since 2011, the estate's wines have been awarded the Touraine Oisly appellation, which covers selected wines produced in the best parcels of Sologne.
100% sauvignon blanc. Clay soils with small pebbles and rolled quartz. Vines from 40 to 55 years in age. Organic cultivation. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts; 8 months of aging on fine lees.
